Letter to the editor: Kehr’s record admirable

Updated: May 22

To the editor:

Usually letters supporting a candidate will stress how long they have known the person and a history of “successes” in that time. I first met Jeff Kehr, candidate for judge, Seat 5, Monroe Circuit Court, in the last election cycle. What impressed me two years ago, and continues to do so, is the respect he is given by members of our community. The legal community, both defense attorneys and prosecutors, fellow youth sports coaches, law enforcement — all seem to view him with regard. His record is admirable with a long history of public service and a quality of experience that you can see for yourself on his website, www.jeffkehrforjudge.com.

But what has engaged my support are his intentions to build on the past to meet the challenges of today and the near future. Jeff was a founding member of the Monroe County Drug Treatment Court and supports the concept of “problem-solving courts” as a way to alleviate jail overcrowding. He sees that the judicial system can be an important component in dealing collaboratively with the mental health crisis facing us. His record is commendable, his integrity unchallenged, and his dedication to justice for all cannot be denied. Elect Jeff Kehr.
