Letter to the Editor: Support from a legal adversary

I support Jeff Kehr for Judge, as he is a fair-minded individual who leads by example whether in the courtroom or in our community. My support of Jeff is unusual in that I am his legal adversary; we are always on opposite sides of the courtroom. I have tried jury trials where Jeff is opposing counsel, and walked away firmly believing my client received a fair trial, due in part to Jeff taking his special responsibilities as a prosecutor to heart. A prosecutor’s highest ethical calling is the cause of justice, and I have seen first-hand Jeff consider all sides of a controversy and uphold ethical virtues, even if there was an easier way out. Integrity is not a skill that can be taught, but it is one of the most important character traits a judge can possess. Jeff Kehr leads with integrity.

When you win the respect of your adversary by years of practice in the courtroom arena, as Jeff Kehr has earned mine, it speaks volumes about the type of lawyer and person you are. Jeff has earned my respect and support, and I hope he has earned yours as well. Vote Jeff Kehr for Judge on May 5.
